Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

This policy applies to Folderly(the “Service”), accessible at wpfolderly.comand distributed as a WordPress plugin via wordpress.org and the Folderly website. References to “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the Folderly team. You can reach us at dev@wpfolderly.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide. When you contact us, submit a roadmap request, or buy Folderly Pro, we receive the data you supply: name, email address, the message you send, and (for purchases) billing details processed by our payment providers. We do not see or store full card numbers.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the website we receive standard request data such as IP address, browser user-agent, referring URL, and pages viewed. We use this for security, abuse prevention, and aggregate usage analytics.

Plugin telemetry. The Folderly WordPress plugin does not transmit your media library content or file paths to our servers. License activation for the Pro version exchanges a license key, your site URL, and the plugin version with our licensing provider so we can validate your subscription and deliver updates.

3. How we use information

  • To operate the website and the plugin’s licensing and update channels.
  • To process payments, issue refunds, and provide customer support.
  • To send transactional email about your purchase, updates, or support requests.
  • To detect abuse, debug errors, and improve product quality.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Service providers (sub-processors)

We use a small number of trusted vendors to operate Folderly. Each receives only the data necessary for their role and is contractually required to protect it.

  • Cloudflare— CDN, DDoS protection, Workers hosting.
  • Freemius— license management, checkout, and Pro purchase processing.
  • Stripe and PayPal— payment processing for purchases and refunds.
  • Email delivery provider— transactional email for receipts, support replies, and license notifications.
  • Analytics— aggregated, privacy-respecting page-view metrics via Google Tag Manager (when enabled).

5. Cookies and similar tech

We set a small number of cookies for site functionality (theme preference, locale, checkout session). If analytics are enabled in your region, additional cookies may be set per your consent. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

6. Data retention

We keep purchase and tax records for the period required by applicable law (typically up to 7 years). Support correspondence is retained for up to 3 years. Marketing opt-ins are retained until you withdraw consent. Server logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging.

7. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, port, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain uses including direct marketing. To exercise any of these rights, email dev@wpfolderly.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by your local law (typically 30 days). If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

8. International transfers

Our service providers may process data outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other recognized transfer mechanisms.

9. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards: encryption in transit (TLS), access controls on production systems, and regular review of vendor security. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password for any accounts you maintain with our service providers.

10. Children

Folderly is a tool for website operators and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted on this page and, where appropriate, communicated by email.
