Switching from Wicked Folders to Folderly

Folderly ships a one-click importer for Wicked Folders structures. The importer reads Wicked Folders’ database tables, recreates the folder hierarchy in Folderly, and reassigns each attachment to its matching folder. File URLs are untouched — both plugins use virtual folders, so nothing on the public side of your site changes.

Practical steps:

  1. Back up your database (always a good idea before touching media).
  2. Install Folderly alongside Wicked Folders — they can coexist during the import.
  3. Open Media → Folderly → Import and select Wicked Folders as the source.
  4. Review the imported folder tree in the WordPress media library.
  5. Once you’re happy, deactivate Wicked Folders (and cancel any active Pro licence renewal).

If anything looks wrong after the import, you can deactivate Folderly and re-enable Wicked Folders — your original Wicked Folders data isn’t touched. The importer is read-only on the source side.
